State Park activities run Memorial Day Weekend to Labor Day Weekend.

Monday, July 1st
1:00 p.m. Nature Walk "Dam Busting"
Meet Sara at the Campground Center for a peek into the secret life in the Big Sur River. We will discover steelhead rainbow trout and find out how you can help these threatened fish in the their natural habitat. Wear your river shoes for this half-hour program.

Wednesday, July 3rd
2:00 p.m. Nature Walk " Discovering Traditional Plant Uses"
Meet Olivia at the Redwood Deck for a moderate hike up the Valley View trail . This is a 1 mile hike one-way in which we will be discovering the plants that Native Americans used.

Friday, July 5th
10:00 a.m. Nature Walk "Big Sur Plant Communities"
Experience the collage of plant life found on Buzzard’s Roost Trail that is supported by Big Sur’s unique climate. This is a 2.5 mile hike one-way. Be sure to bring plenty of water and wear comfortable hiking shoes. Meet Chelsea at the Redwood Deck in Pfieffer Big Sur State Park (by the Big Sur Lodge).

Saturday, July 6th
8:30 p.m. Evening Program "How Grizzly Bear Climbed the Mountain"
Come for an hour of story-telling and an activity under the stars to discover what the Big Dipper constellation meant to Native North Americans. Meet Chelsea at the Pfeiffer Big Sur State Park Campfire Center. Bring a flashlight.

Sunday, July 7th
11:00 a.m Nature Walk: "Discovering Pfeiffer Falls"
Meet Park Interpreter Sara for a moderate hike up the Valley View trail to the base of Pfeiffer Falls. This is a 1 mile one-way walk to the waterfall ~1 hour. Meet at the Redwood Deck next to the Big Sur Lodge.

8:30 p.m. Night hike: "Light Pollution"
Meet Olivia at the Redwood deck for a light hike through the Nature Trail and the Wardens Path. Get a peak at how wildlife and nature was before light pollution.

On-going tours and visitor centers:
Point Sur Lightstation State Historic Park Tours
"Walking Tour into the Past" Volunteer led, three-hour walking tour on paved road. The walk is less than a mile but with a rise in elevation of 300′. Meet along the West Side of Highway 1, ¼ mile north of Pt. Sur Naval facility. Arrive early. Tour size limited. Tours- Saturday: 10 a.m., 2 p.m., Sunday: 10 a.m., and Wednesday: 10 a.m., 2 p.m. Admission Adult: $12.00; Ages 6-17: $5.00; Age 5 and under: free.

Molera Ranch House Museum
Find out what it was like to live in Big Sur 100 years ago? Located at Andrew Molera State Park, the Ranch House is open for visitors Saturday and Sunday from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. when a volunteer is available.

Ernst Ewoldsen Nature Center
Located near the Pfeiffer Falls/Valley View trailhead is open for visitors Friday, Saturday, Sunday and Monday from 11:00 a.m.– 2:00 p.m. Come discover what lives here!

California Condor Discovery Center
Come learn about the magnificent condors and the reintroduction program run by the Ventana Wildlife Society. The center is open Saturday and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and is located at Andrew Molera State Park.
