** UPDATE #55 **

HIGHWAY 1/ROCKY CREEK VIADUCT PROJECT CONTINUES WITH DAYTIME ROADWORK ONLY

Daytime roadwork on Highway 1 at Rocky Creek continues next week from 7 am to 5 pm Monday, Nov. 4 through Thursday, Nov. 7, with reversing one-way traffic control and up to 10-minute delays as needed. Note: There will be no work on Monday, Nov. 11 in observance of the Veterans’ Day holiday.

The temporary signal has been removed. Daytime work being performed next week consists of construction team demobilization and possible debris removal down the hillside.

NOTE: There will be no overnight work or overnight closures scheduled from Sunday, Nov. 3 through Thursday, Nov. 7.

The project to construct a permanent viaduct about 15 miles south of Carmel near the Rocky Creek Bridge began on Sept. 4, 2012. Completion was scheduled to occur at the end of Oct. The project is 98% complete with minor details and final items being completed.

The contractor for this $11 million viaduct project is Golden State Bridge of Martinez, CA.

Caltrans reminds motorists to move over and slow down when driving through highway work zones.
