UPDATE #56 HIGHWAY 1/ROCKY CREEK VIADUCT PROJECT IS ALMOST COMPLETED

** UPDATE #56 **

HIGHWAY 1/ROCKY CREEK VIADUCT PROJECT IS ALMOST COMPLETED


NOTE: There will skid testing for friction on the deck on the northbound lane of Hwy.1 at Rocky Creek on Thursday, Nov. 14 between 7 am and 5 pm with up to 10-minute holds as needed. Otherwise, there will be no day or nighttime work or closures scheduled for next week, from Sunday, Nov. 10 through Friday, Nov. 15
.

The temporary signal has been removed. There will be daytime work and closures the week of November 18 for debris removal down the hillside, but a news release will be provided next week with that information.

The project to construct a permanent viaduct about 15 miles south of Carmel near the Rocky Creek Bridge began on Sept. 4, 2012. Completion was scheduled to occur at the end of Oct. The project is 99% complete with minor details and final items being completed.

The contractor for this $11 million viaduct project is Golden State Bridge of Martinez, CA.

Caltrans reminds motorists to move over and slow down when driving through highway work zones.

  1. Hi, Terrific to see this done. Oddly, feeling a bit nostalgic to see the operation gone, as it has been a fixture for a while.
