SIGNIFICANT RAIN AND WIND NEXT WEEK!!! (Wednesday, February 26-28) A series of storm systems will impact the region during the second half of next week. The first one will impact the entire region by Wednesday afternoon, bringing at least a half inch to an inch of rain along with wind gusts between 10 and 20 mph. High confidence. After a brief break in between storms on Thursday, the second and more powerful storm will impact the region as early as Friday morning. This will bring another round of significant rain as well as much stronger winds to the area. Rainfall totals by early Sunday morning could easily reach between 4 and 5 inches along the coast and higher elevations. Wind gusts between 20 and 30 mph, with occasional gusts to 40 mph will be possible all day on Friday into Saturday morning. Moderate confidence. With saturated grounds, these winds could down power lines as well as trees. Please continue to monitor and share this information with your friends and family to keep everyone weather aware.
